Beccy is a 4th year Scottish/English Gryffindor Halflood at

np_hogwarts. Though her parents were living in London at the time, Rebecca was born in Scotland. With Christmas approaching, they'd taken some time off to spend at the family home in Kintyre when Cara went into labor. It was quite the adventure, giving birth there rather than in a hospital, but there was little choice at the time and several tiring hours later, Rebecca was born.

The MacAlaisters never had any other children, so Rebecca is an only child. They always meant to have another, but duties for the Order got in the way and then during Beccy's first year at Hogwarts, her mother was caught in a DE attack. She survived, but the DE she was fighting left her in a virtually comatose state and she is still in St. Mungos as a result.

Rebecca is very close to both her father and her grandfather. She's wanted to follow in their footsteps and become an Auror for as long as she can remember, but her desire to do so became even stronger after what happened to her mother. She feels like she can somehow make up for what happened by taking out as many of the bad guys as possible, which is a dangerous attitude to have, but one only needs to look to her father to see where she might have gotten it.

As she finished up her fourth year at Hogwarts, Rebecca is starting to think about OWLs. She doesn't have the world's best grades, but she's determined to earn the scores she'll need to get into Auror training.

Rebecca is definitely not afraid of who she is or what she wants. She's been heavily influenced, especially in the past several years, by her father and grandfather and it's no surprise to see she has a similar personality. Beccy isn't exactly what most people would call friendly. Oh, sure, she's nice enough to the people she likes, but there's a tough outer shell you have to get through first. Sarcasm and wit are her number one defense mechanisms and she thinks a lot of people her age are far too concerned with trivial matters and not nearly worried enough about important things.

Rebecca can be very stubborn when she sets her mind to something. She refuses to acknowledge defeat and she's not one to back down from a fight, even when she knows she is in the wrong. She is often single-minded to the point of recklessness and no doubt has gotten many a detention for exercising her trademark sarcastic wit in class. It doesn't help that she has an arrogant streak a mile long. She knows who she is, she likes who she is, and to hell with anyone who doesn't like it.

Determination is probably Rebecca's greatest strength. Once she sets her mind to something, once she decides to stand up for someone or something, there is not deterring her. She will walk through fire for the things and people she feels passionately for.

What she lacks in booksmarts, she makes up for here. She knows where she needs the most work and she applies herself there, being willing to do whatever it takes to keep her marks where they need to be.

DADA and COMC are her best classes. The skill with DADA is probably genetic and she also also a minimal amount of trouble with Charms and Transfiguration. Her want work isn't flawless, but it's definitely not bad. She has a natural affinity for animals and another creatures, which helps her in COMC.

Rebecca is stubborn and reckless. She goes after what she wants with such complete zeal that she often doesn't think about the consequences, especially to herself. Her headstrong nature, couple with a natural sarcastic wit have caused her to butt heads with plenty of people, including some teachers, because even though she knows she shouldn't, sometimes she just can't help mouthing off to a professor.

Astronomy, and History of Magic are the classes she struggles with most. This is mostly because she lacks the patience to just sit and study them and she'll be glad to drop them after OWLs. She struggles a bit with Potions, too, because of a lack of focus, but she knows how important it is that she do well on her OWL, so she's starting to buckle down and work harder in that class.
